Chris Rock reunites with ''Everybody Hates Chris'' theme song composer for a new movie

Did you know that Tichina Arnold, who played Rochelle on Everybody Hates Chris, and the rest of the cast are the voices you hear in the show's theme song? The catchy instrumental was composed by renowned jazz and pop musician Marcus Miller, who is one of Hollywood's go-to composers for television and film production music.

Chris Rock, who created the popular 2005 sitcom starring Arnold, Tyler James Williams, Terry Crews, and others, is reuniting with Miller on an upcoming movie. A few years ago, we heard a lot about Rock after the Oscars, then he disappeared, but he wasn't hiding. The comedian and actor voiced Cat Rubble in Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023) and played Roy Wilkins in the biographical drama Rustin (2023). He did a few other projects, but now he's back with Misty Green, a drama film he wrote, produced, and directed.

According to IMDb, it follows a talented actress (Rosalind Eleazar) whose career has stalled as she fights for her second act years after her Hollywood breakthrough. Alongside Eleazar and Rock, the film also stars Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, and Topher Grace.

Miller composed the film's music, and A24 will distribute it in theaters on October 9. Misty Green had a world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
