Fredro Starr and Usher appeared in this 1999 film — and they weren't fighting over Moesha
From high school to college, Moesha had her fair share of love interests. One boyfriend stuck around longer than the others: Q, short for Quinton, played by rapper Fredro Starr. He was the "bad boy" that Frank Mitchell, Moesha's dad, didn't like, which made Moesha want to get closer to him.
At one point, the teen chose Jeremy over Q, played by singer Usher Raymond. When she was sent to a private school to escape bad influences, she fell for Jeremy at Bridgeport, but the relationship didn't last. She and Q eventually rekindled their relationship in college, where he was managing a group. They got engaged, but that didn't last either.
Real fans of the '90s sitcom know these episode plots, but did you know Fredro Starr and Usher starred in a film together in 1999?
The drama thriller Light It Up follows high school students tired of the rundown conditions at their school. After a teacher is suspended for taking them to a diner for class (he was told to take them anywhere to teach his lesson after their classroom was freezing and lacked heat), the students demand change.
Lester Dewitt (Usher), Stephanie Williams (Rosario Dawson), Zacharias "Ziggy" Malone (Robert Ri'chard), Rodney J. Templeton (Fredro Starr), and Lynn Sabatini (Sara Gilbert) find themselves locked in a school, holding an officer (played by Forest Whitaker) hostage. It was set in New York City but filmed at a Chicago high school.
