Remember when WNBA stars played a game of basketball with Martin and his friends?
When Martin started hosting Word on the Street, the little man with a big mouth got an ego boost. He was already "talkin' smack" on WZUP, but the talk show gave him an outlet to be seen and heard. If you watch the show, you know he thought men were the superior gender, and whenever he had a chance to prove it, he did it in a wild way.
In the episode "Bangin' Hard on the Schoolyard," the opening scene shows Martin on stage filming Word on the Street. The topic: Women with men’s jobs. While Martin thought the idea of a woman as a soldier, police officer, or handyman was hilarious, the guests stood up to him.
"That's where you're wrong, Martin. There's no such thing as a 'man's job,'" one said to him. Gina, his wife, watched the segment and challenged him to a basketball game after Martin said there was no woman better than a man at sports.
Martin thought Gina and Pam would play against him, Tommy, and Cole, but the women had other plans. They called up the USA Olympic women's basketball team (WNBA stars): Dawn Staley, Rebecca Lobo, Sheryl Swoopes, and Teresa Edwards.
Of course, the women dominated and made Martin and his crew look like fools.
