Best Khadijah James moments on Living Single
Our Girl. One of the realest characters ever created.
Queen Latifah's Khadijah James is the friend everyone needs in their corner. She's outspoken and supportive and will "Klink, Klink" every time she hits a goal or something works in her favor. The FLAVA Magazine publisher and journalist had some of the best TV moments on Living Single. We've got four right here in this list. Let's get into it.
In the pilot episode "Judging by the Cover," we instantly see Khadijah's personality.
When you find out your friend's new boyfriend actually has a wife, you'll tell them and expect them to cut all ties. In the first episode of Living Single, Regine believes her boyfriend's lies when he says he'll end things with his wife and choose her. This prompts Khadijah, Max, and Synclaire to shake their heads.
When he doesn't show up for their date, a miserable Regine can't figure out why she keeps dealing with horrible men. Max says, "because you keep expecting them to carry you." Regine responds, "and what's wrong with that?" Khadijah instantly jumps in and says, "They keep droppin' yo a-s."
In the episode "A Kiss Before Lying," she can't believe Max is having dinner with her ex and his fiancée.
Friends want you to stay away from a toxic ex for a reason. When Khadijah learns Max is going to have dinner with Greg and his fiancée, she disapproves. However, she helps Max lie anyway (so real) to make Greg realize he made a mistake leaving her friend.
In the episode "Unity or Five Card Stud," Kyle's coworker gets a taste of 'Set It Off.'
You have to be a weak individual to call a woman out of her name, especially because she and her friends beat you at a card game.
Kyle wants to get on the good side of his coworkers, which includes junior vice president Lawrence, who is on the verge of giving him a promotion. He hosts Lawrence's poker game in his and Overton's apartment, and Khadijah and the women crash the little get-together.
Lawrence sets his sights on Regine and later lies about what happened on their date. After the women beat the men at Poker on a separate day, Lawrence calls them a derogatory word, and, in Khadijah's words, she was "about to set it off."
Though Kyle handled it instead.
In the episode "Baby I'm Back...Again," Khadijah has dates...and an ex returns.
"Baby, I'm back."
Khadijah waited by the phone for three months for Scooter to call, only for him to ghost her and show up months later expecting to pick up where they left off. Scooter was on a world tour managing a girl group. After months, she decided to move on.
That's when Scooter appears and throws a wrench in her love life. She 'stood on business' for a second until he proposed. Max, Regine, and Synclaire had to remind her why the engagement was a bad idea.
